Senior Data Engineer - Contract
Midwestern Interactive is looking to add additional Senior Data Engineers to our contractor pool. MWI is one of the fastest-growing embedded teams providers in the US. Details:
- Work remote
- The ideal candidate for the upcoming client will be able to go in office in Kansas City MO once every 2 weeks
- Selected candidates will be placed in a contract pool where they can claim temporary roles with Midwestern clients. Candidates may remain in the pool indefinitely.
- Full-time hours during contracts

- Opportunity to join the Midwestern team full-time
Responsibilities:
- Manage inbound and outbound data pipelines that ingest client data and produce results in realtime; requires flexible inbound and outbound configurations and flexible data mapping within a distributed system.
- Working with Java, Kafka, and event driven systems.
- Designing data structures and modeling and mapping data.
- Working with, or a willingness to dive into Neo4j.
- Working with, or a willingness to dive into serverless architecture.
- Writing unit and integration tests.
- Releasing software into production and validating functionality.
- Contributing to deployment automation.
- Identifying the need for, and building internal tools to help the developer experience.

Education
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
