Midwestern Interactive is looking to add additional Senior Data Engineers to our contractor pool. Details: 

  • Work remote
    • The ideal candidate for the upcoming client will be able to go in office in Kansas City MO once every 2 weeks
  • Selected candidates will be placed in a contract pool where they can claim temporary roles with Midwestern clients. Candidates may remain in the pool indefinitely. 
  • Full-time hours during contracts

  • Opportunity to join the Midwestern team full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Manage inbound and outbound data pipelines that ingest client data and produce results in realtime; requires flexible inbound and outbound configurations and flexible data mapping within a distributed system.
  • Working with Java, Kafka, and event driven systems.
  • Designing data structures and modeling and mapping data.
  • Working with, or a willingness to dive into Neo4j.
  • Working with, or a willingness to dive into serverless architecture.
  • Writing unit and integration tests.
  • Releasing software into production and validating functionality.
  • Contributing to deployment automation.
  • Identifying the need for, and building internal tools to help the developer experience.

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
